This weekend we braved the inclement weather forecast and spent two nights camping for our annual Summer Social. After pitching our tents we enjoyed some group games, a bouncy castle and finished by sitting round the fire gazing up into the stars. We were actually rather lucky with the weather and a good time was had by all!
We supported an RBL charity event at Burton Pynsent House, near Curry Rivel. We performed background music for their cocktail party. Our hosts looked after us very well and we enjoyed having an amazing backdrop!
A few of our ladies took part in the Race for Life in Portsmouth today. They joined others in the area to do the 5km course as a marching band whilst raising money for a very worthy cause; Cancer Research UK. Congratulations to all involved in what was a momentous occasion!
We performed two marching displays for the crowd on our home turf at the 70th RNAS Yeovilton Air Day. The annual event brings together hundreds of aircraft for the public to enjoy whilst being entertained on the ground by the likes of us, the field gun crew and other stalls. We performed our display from RNVBF 2017 and the crowd loved it.
We had a wonderful day yesterday performing our marching display and concert programme to the crowds in Portsmouth whilst being adjudicated by the RM Band Service. The day was made even more special by winning three trophies for Best Fleet Air Arm Band, 2nd place Concert peformance and Overall Runner-Up!
