HEAR FROM THE BAND...
TIM ADLINGTON

"I first joined the band in 1982 and I can
honestly say that I've enjoyed every
minute. I've had the chance to play on
every instrument in the band (except for
trombone) finally settling with the Tuba,
out of necessity rather than choice,
something to do with a big bottom end!?
I left the Royal Navy in 2008 but continue to support the band both as a player and as an instrument repairer." - Tim currently works for a music shop in Sherborne.

CATRIONA DAWSON

"I joined the band about 9 years ago.
Having played the flute since the age of
7, I decided to follow in the footsteps
of my brother who had already been
performing with the band for a few
years. He has since joined the Royal
Marines Band Service as a French Horn
player. By joining the band, it has given me the opportunity to play with like minded people and expand my musical knowledge. My Dad is also a member of the band, playing side drum and other percussion. The social side of the band is brilliant fun and I especially enjoy meeting up with the other RN Volunteer Bands at the annual festival held in Portsmouth. It's a great feeling performing to the public in our concerts and other engagements. My favourite gig is the annual Christmas concert under the Concorde at the Fleet Air Arm Museum."
